☀️ The Harvest Day Diary
Date & Time: July 1st, 2026 at around 3:30 PM.
The Beekeepers: Amanda and my son, James.
The Hive: This specific batch came entirely from "The Vault"—one of our favorite, most productive hive boxes.
The Weather: It was a gorgeous, sweltering 93 degree summer afternoon. The bees were buzzing with incredible energy, and the hive was absolutely roaring with life.

🌸 What the Bees Were Foraging
(Early July Blooms)
When James and I pulled these frames, the apiary was surrounded by a massive, tall field of sweet clover in peak bloom. Our bees flew miles across Fort Atkinson to gather nectar from the best of mid-summer Wisconsin, including:
White & Red Clover: The foundational sweetness of this harvest.
Basswood / Linden Trees: These bloom right at the turn of July in Wisconsin, adding a crisp, almost minty brightness to the nectar.
Backyard Favorites: Wild milkweed, bee balm (bergamot), chicory, and early purple coneflowers from neighboring gardens.
🥄 Tasting Notes:
"The Vault" Summer Batch
Because this honey was made from early-summer nectar, it has a beautiful, pale golden clarity.
The Flavor Profile: Exceptionally mild, light, and delicate. It carries a classic, clean sweetness with soft, warm floral undertones and a faint hint of vanilla.
The Texture: Smooth, velvety, and incredibly clean on the palate—it melts away effortlessly without any heavy aftertaste.
